Veterans Day Essay Contest 2019

In honor of Veterans Day, Farm Bureau Insurance is proud to announce the 2019 Veterans Day Essay Contest. Idaho students with family members who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces are invited to participate. This is a great opportunity for young people to put in their own words the impact that their family member’s military service has made in their lives.

Deadline

All essays must be received by October 25, 2019.
Prize winners will be notified no later than October 31, 2019.


Contest Rules

The contest is open to children grades 1-12 with a family member who has served or is serving in the Armed Forces. Essays must answer the contest topic in 750 words or less. All entries become the property of Farm Bureau Insurance and will not be returned. Essays must be original compositions produced solely by the entrant.

The contest will be separated into three categories for judging. One winner from each category will be awarded a check as follows:

Category 1Grades 1–6$250
Category 2Grades 7–9$500
Category 3Grades 10–12$750

One essay winner will also be recognized at and invited to attend the Ninth Annual Farm Bureau “Salute to Idaho Veterans” on November 8, 2019. Entries will be judged by a panel of individuals representing Farm Bureau Insurance, the Pocatello Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America.
